October 22- Sydney, Cape Breton
October 22 Sydney, Cape Breton Starting to feel better. Still have a hoarse cough but not tired anymore. Knee doing better too but after a lot of rough walking today it was sore. We arrived in Sydney, Cape Breton at 7am. Water was bouncy to say the least. Made getting into the shuttle boat to shore a real challenge. It was 41d but very windy and icy. We had a walking tour of the historic downtown Sydney and went onto a couple historic homes and c hurches. I had a couple chances to stop and talk to a few docents and one fellow said most of the costumers here do LARPs (Live Action Role Playing) in historic dress but are not all interested in reenacting. I sat with a couple of the ladies at one 1785 house and they said they dress to look like 1790s but mainly pile on clothes to keep warm. So, it’s hard to see any style but its working women's clothes, nothing fancy. I showed them a few pics of mine and would have liked to exchange info but didn't have time with our tour gro...
